Chocolate Box Theatre was originally set up in April 2012, by Brighton-based musical theatre professionals Nathan Potter, Emma Edwards and Simon Gray to produce the musical Into The Woods for what would be a sell our run from 24th to 29th July 2012.
Then taking some time away to develop other work in their respective fields. In late 2013 both Emma and Nathan came back together to re-kindle Chocolate Box Theatre with the aim of creating a professional production company dedicated to producing Cabaret and large musicals in small spaces, replicating successful London fringe venues.
Chocolate Box officially launched in March 2014 at the new Emporuim Theatre with AtoZ of Musicals. Closely followed by a sell out run of Stephen Sondheims , Into The Woods. Our Music theatre review shows Once upon a Wonderland (2015) and Lights Camera Wonderland (2018) came next both in association with Music Theatre 2000. Our immersive and sometimes titlating cabaret show C'est Magnifique premiered at the 2016 Brighton Fringe.
Now ten years later in 2024 C'est Magnifique will again run in residency at The Tusk Club. Our love letter to all things cabaret and musical theatre.
Chocolate Box Theatre returns to create musical theatre that is inclusive, challenges, questions and brings together all forms of the community in breathtakingly theatrical fashion.
